Stick insect in the garden today

Hi,

My daughter came into the shed today and said there was
a grasshopper on the back verandah.
This is what we saw

Great macro there Steve.
Even picking up micro rubbish on its antennas in the second pic.
Cheers Kev.

Pretty amazing insect Steve,

Looks like he is concentrating on being invisible, not doing a bad job of it either, love the look in his or her eye. An example of the incredible amount of diversity of life on our planet.

Nice shots Steve – what about those eyes eh! I saw my first one soon after we moved to Oz in 1993 and was astonished at how the creature just blended in with the twigs and leaves on the shrub in our back garden.

Soon after, I also saw my 1st praying mantis!

Cheers

Dennis
