New IIS Media Tart – Peter Marples!

My wife recorded the TV program “Extra” the other night to show me a segment on Comet Lulin. Well, who should turn up on there - big, bright, bold and brassy Peter Marples!

Peter and Ron (Sirius Optics owner) were interviewed by the Extra Team (Ch 9) and I must say, did an impressive job. The low camera angles had Peter and Ron surrounded by a fabulous array of telescopes, binoculars and other astro gadgets – makes me want to drive down to the shop and spend some money…if I had some!

The boys looked good in their matching Louis Vuitton Polo Shirts..

Cheers

Dennis

PS – Peter managed to get a plug in about his recent supernova discoveries!

Thank you Dennis,
Media Tart, Louis Vuitton shirts, hmmm there is an election looming in Queenlsand, maybe I should .......nah. I did manage to do as greatest Qld leader of all time used to do so well and mumble the figures by bringing Lulin 100 times closer to the Earth than it actually was. A stuff up, nah, just feeding the chooks.

Dressing the reporter

One thing Peter hasn't said is the number of times he undress the lady reporter. Talk about dirty old men, it was a scramble to see who0 could get to her first. Peter won.

Hey Peter

I did notice the slightly understated distance of Comet Lulin, but in the overall scheme of things, yours and Ron’s impresario performance was so worthy of an Oscar, it really went unnoticed! The hardest decision will be to determine who gets the Best Actor award and who receives the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor!

Cheers

Oh geez, after 27 years of a wonderful marriage yesterday, how do I respond to the above? In a gentlemanly way what was meant to be said was ... I indirectly paid compliment that was due, to the journalists intelligent questions, outstanding charm and my admiration for all that is beautiful and inspiring in both Earthly and Heavenly bodies. Dennis, I am happy to take the supporting oscar. And I now await the call from Speilberg....

It was actually a classic line from a send up Ronnie Barker (Two Ronnies) did of Patrick Moore in 1974 in which he quotes "and it will be visible to the naked observer" In fact this is such a classic bit of Astro comedy that many here might like to have a chuckle at it - you will need real media player to view it. Now I sound like a movie reviewer as well as media tart.

I love the last shot with Ron twiddlin' ....well I can't say anymore... I am a moderator after all.

Anyway, what are they looking at in the Southwest at that time of the afternoon? The only thing I could think of is Achenar. If he's looking for Lulin in that direction I aint buying another thing from that scope shop, the scopes all point in the wrong direction

Just kiddin' Peter
