My attention was caught by slide 8, where some entrepreneur had set up a bank of at least nine telescopes, all pointing directly at the sun and with no obvious sun filter. As the caption ominously said, "Ignorance is bliss. Some of those who turned out to watch the eclipse ignored warnings and looked directly at the sun."
One scope looked like it had quite a large aperture, too. I certainly hope no one's eyesight was damaged.
