Darks-Converting RAW to colour

Hi All, I have a quick question:

First, I am using the Orion Starshoot Colour camera with MaxIm DL Essentials.

Darks are taken in DarkRaw1x1

In your processing step, when you hit the command, "Convert raw to colour" the image converts and as a result, looks pretty black. (Apart from any hot pixels)

My question is, should I stretch the histogram as I would a "light" frame and should I do a colour balance on the dark frame too, before saving it for combine/average/subtraction purposes later?

Here are a couple of screen shots and you can see the histogram. These are before and after shots.

A bit confused.

Baz.
