New lmaging Setup

after finally receiving all the necessary hardware l got a chance to trial fit what will be my portable imaging setup.
G11 with Argo Navis, 8" reflector, W.O. Megrez 90 and ED100. l'll swap between the 8" and the M90 for imaging and use the ED100 as the guide scope using an Sbig ST7.
All held together with homemade 12mm aluminium mounting plates.

Very nice Mick

What you've done by pairing a G11 and an Argo Navis is my next step. I purposely bought the Digital drive standard version because I knew that an Argo-powered push-to would suit me better than the Gemini.

Excellent!

Looks good to me! is it balanced like that? I take it the two refractors can slide back and forth independently of the main mounting setup, but what about side to side, I would have thought the ED100 would weigh more than the M90, But then maybe the newts focuser offsets the weight differential?

l needed something l could break down into smaller components, my 12" LX200 is just to heavy for one person especially setting it up on a wedge.
the beauty of this setup is that you can mount as many or as few scopes as you require for each session.

Hi Mick

A lovely, well-engineered set up…but...would you p-l-e-a-s-e change the 8” refractor to 8” reflector – I fell off my chair in my haste to open the attached photos!

Cheers

Dennis

Looks good Mick, but I fear it will be a cow to balance each time you shift the camera from one scope to another. You have some form of adjustment laterally?

hi Gary, before each component was positioned l weighed everything and found their balance points. they were also positioned laterally taking this into account, so regarding the repositioning of cameras etc it should not shift by more than maybe half a kilo which l can compensate for with the addition of counterweights.
