Hi guys, well i don't know about you, but i have decided to close the Observatory down, for at least a month, until this bloody hot weather subsides.
Maybe I'm classed as a fuddey duddey, but that is just me, so I have taken all the scopes cameras and anything of value inside, cleaned it, and put it in a nice 20 degrees, cuboard
It is kiking at 43 degrees at the moment, and expected to be more tomorrow, my stuff is to expensive to be heat struck, so no images from me till it cools.
No, that's a great idea. It could get hot enough in your shed, with it being 43 outside, that it could warp some of the equipment. That would damage things and that's the last thing you want!!.
Houghy, mate i did consider air con, and now that we are on the subject, would that help, or just push moist air through the Ob.
I just went outside and the temp has hit 45, just to much for me mate, and like i said some time ago about extreme heat I have again watered the pier, to stop dry movement.
I would have done the exact same thing Leon. The heat at the moment is just unbelievable and leaving your equipment out in a shed is not the best of ideas.
Air conditioning would be great in this heat but I see it as being a bit extravagant in my opinion. Some air vents and a fan should keep the heat down in the Obs.
That's a fair call Leon, I haven't been doing much either in the heat. It also takes all night for the scope to cool down to a reasonable temp as well.
