Sharpless 2-311 now with new data !!!!

Been a while since ive put anything up, so a bit rusty with the processing. ive bumped the color up a bit to bring out the star colors as it has quite a variety

This is Sharpless 2-311 found in the constellation of puppis.

taken with 12 inch F5 Newtonian , Qhy8 Camera, total of 2 hrs exposure.

The closer image is a 50% crop and the other is full frame but only at 30 %. it does look better with both a larger size and full frame ...but 200kb limits what you can do.

Thanks all for looking, i agree more data would help, maybee its time to go for a few more hours. 10 hour exposures are becoming more frequent these days.

Lovely star colors and that hint of reflection thrown into the emission makes a lovely image!

i had done this patch of nebulosity with a DSLR before and hadnt seen the reflection areas in that image, so it was a suprise,

glens on to it with NGC 2467 so if anyone wants to find it, last night it crossed the meridian at 1.12 am .... i managed to grab a couple more hours data, will see if i can aquire some more data before it disapears. i have to put in an entry for that photo competition this year. this could be a nice candidate if i can up the detail .

Well done on a great capture with real nice processing Clive.

This image was worth the wait. After seeing your first try with the DSLR on your website and then comparing it to the updated QHY8 shot you must be very pleased with the results.

yes its right in the galactic plane so its chockas full, always a risk if you want to push the image a bit... you can get away with playing with a few and it not being noticable, but when theres so many ...carefull... carefull....
