Sunspot 798 closeup

I thought I'd push the envelope this afternoon and see how clear a closeup would be. Terrible seeing but not too bad an outcome. Hard to tell if the grain is natural or artifact

No I didn't Tony. What channel and what time? I was looking for something decent to watch last night.

If I get a chance tomorrow I'll do a proper job of processing it. I just wanted to see what I got. I took a couple of 640 X480s as well so might play around with them for a while.

Yep the ol' ToUcam I can probably do a better job of it when I take some time to weed out the ugly frames

I spent a bit more time on a couple of the Avies. I think the focus and seeing is beating me though. Not having tried a Sol shot before I didn't realize how hard it would be too get an accurate focus.

Excellent images Paul

I'm no expert but it would appear to me in the first image, to be granulation on the surface more than artifacts in the images. Artifacts tend to have a more consistant pattern, dont they?. Besides I see faint hints of the same looking granulation through my 8" newt and some baadar film.

It's a wild sunspot that is currently visible, Bet Houghy is kicking himself for selling that PST of his last week lol, c ya shoda saved it for my lol

regards
