The Costa Concordia - the Big Picture

Wow, the Big Picture always has a great photo series. This time showing the Costa Concordia. Amazing.

My condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives.

Amazing series of photos aren't they. What an incredible screw up. I haven't kept up with the news over it in the last day or two, but I really hope that of the couple of dozen or so passengers still missing they'll find some still alive in there.

Amazing images.

It still amazes me how it could have happened in this day and age of hi-tech navigation and GPS.

Surely there must be alarms that sound if a ship strays off course.

He was quotes as saying that he was coordinating the resecue effort when he "accidentally slipped into a life boat" .
Also top marks for the navy rescue divers who had to work in very confined spaces with massive amounts of rubbish all around them.I know they are trained to do this type of work, but still very brave and couragous stuff.
