Its also worth reading the saga of eric in these threads where I found the mod.... took the plunge ..... new scope i did something really stupid ...... look what i did to my scope

That's a good one. I've been thinking about something like this so I could cram a 12" in the hatchback. And you wouldn't need a focuser anymore. Just slide the top tube up and down!

I might try it on my SCT.
Just put glad wrap on the ends to keep dust out.
