Thor's Helmet

Been still having trouble with guiding but think I know what it is.

This image is comprised of 2 subs at 10 minutes. The moon killed off the chance of getting more data. Next time.

Great image. How good does this object look. Will have to have a go at this as soon as the clouds disappear

Wow - that is a great image and nicely processed.
and only 2 x 10min subs.

I can't wait to see this when you have more subs.

Very nice indeed. Lots of detail showing for only two subs.

Paul.. Still having guiding troubles with the EM400 are you? stars look a little bit eggish.. Apart from that its a great effort with only 20mins of data!

Alex.

Come up well considering just 2 X 10 min subs. Guiding still seems to be giving you grief. Must be a fix for it some how. Your camera seems to be sensitive enough as this is not an easy target with the Tak.

Thanks all,

yes I am still having problems with guiding but like I said I think I have a fix. Stars start out looking good at about 45 degrees up, however as the mount moves higher and rotates further in RA the stars start becoming elongated. From what I have read and heard this is flexure. So I am using an under and over setup rather than a side by side setup.

Stand by for better image and with a lot more subs.

Lovely result for only 20mins. It is a very faint object.

Greg.
