Rosette Nebula - 280mm f5.6

Hello all...

One hot off the presses! Done last night (4.1.09)

Usual stuff...
Modded 40D
70-200mm f4L + 1.4x extender (280mm @ f5.6), Hutech LPS2 filter.
Skywatcher Synscan EQ5 GoTo mount
Autoguided with PHD

12x600sec subs, iso 1600, ICNR on, Flats.
ImagesPlus/PS

Unlike the Witch, this was a joy(easier) to process !!

Gees mate do you ever sleep or is it now totally automated, well done, I like it, but I would never be game to shoot at 1600 ISO in this bloody heat.

Good one Doug.

Beat me to it! Been collecting some data over the weeks but only did some 800ISO shots last night and processed today. Always surprises me how much you manage to capture with that rig.

And Leon's right - when do you sleep!

Nice one Doug. A bit better focus than I could manage. Something up the poop in my imaging train.
Looks a little on the purple side on this work monitor. (Maybe just this monitor.)

Hey Doug, (Hager Doug I mean) tell them to get their act together, how is a bloke expected to see quality image on crap work monitors, make them install good astro visuals. when at work.

Ahhrrr, I don't know Doug. I think you were making good headway with the witch. At 280mm you've nailed the rose nicely. Well done.

Ah Mr Robertson, now I know why your images are so bloody good, it is that 1.4x extender, isn't it, well I will have it back please.
