Tuc 47 Last image with 6" newt?

Hi everyone,
Well its been sometime since I have had some decent weather to do some imaging (driving me nuts), and this image was taken about a month back in good seeing before moon rise and most probably the last image I shall take with the 6".
Image is 14 x 4min @ iso 800 with the core masked by 8 x 2 min and 8 x 45 sec in PS. It`s amazing what a difference the seeing makes even at 850mm!
I have posted a full size crop to the IIS ftp sever to do it some justice even thou it is quiet compressed to get it to around 400ks in size.
All in all I am happy with this final image from the 6 incher and hopefully soon get a chance to give the 8" scope a good run!
cheers and thanks for looking.....

Funny how 47 Tuc is imaged so much less often than Omega Centauri but it is just as impressive and probably more pleasing to the eye even?

Nice work Gary

Thanks Mike, Yes I think Tuc 47 is just as impressive or more so than Omega Cent . Tuc 47 reminds me of a sparkler with that very bright nucleus while Omega is more of a ball of stars. Both quiet special!
cheers Gary

Agreed.. 47 Tuc is a real stunner to look at/image. With its incredibly tight, bright core, and rather stunning colors, it makes for a really impressive looking target!

Your shot is very nice indeed Gary! Well done.

Lovely departing image for the 6" Gary. It has certainly served you well producing some fantastic images in the past. This rendition of Tuc47 is no exception. Resolves very well and you've done a nice job on the processing. Well done.

Thanks Ric, Marcus, Alex, Humayun, Jase and Paul!
My tracking was a tiny bit of causing the stars to be slightly off round but it doesn`t distract much in the final image.
Shall be sad to see the 6" go. It`s little mirror has served me well!
thanks fellow IISpacers!

Thanks Gary. I just looked again tonight at 47 Tuc for about the third time.....but the first with my new telescope. My first look at 47 Tuc was with a 12" Dob of a friend, with the clearest sky, miles from any light.

As I am in the middle of the suburbs now with street lights polluting the sky, I was not able to get the clarity you have in your picture or what I have seen previously. I just like to say thanks for reminding me what 47 Tuc looks like with clear skies and no pollution.

Can't wait to see more.
