What a year

Just been thinking..this time last year..the year..the events..somehow, although not adequately, coping...
A jam packed year looking back disruptive taxing but it is over...now we get a new one...for a year.

Happy New Year

And the very same to you, Alex old mate!
It's been a year of ups and downs for myself as well.
One of the many highs was graduating from binoculars to a 12" dob.
I've had a few lows as well, but the dob sort of canceled most of them out
Drink deep the highs AND the lows
For the time cometh when you turn up your toes.
Ok, I'm no Shakespere (or Lawson) but if nothing else - I am original.
I look forward to the coming year with great excitement. Come what may, it's gonna be a beaut!
Best to all!

A great philosophy Phil.

I always just ...

"hope for the best.
expect the worst,
and take what comes"

It's all you can do isn't it?

Have a great NYE everyone - and an even greater 2009

And a happy New Year to you as well Alex.

I always look at the new year as a chance for a fresh start and to enjoy the good times that may be around the corner.

The whole world may look back at 2008 and wish 2009 was as good by this time next year.

Can't say 2008 was a good one :

lost my wife's unofficial mother (her aunti)
didn't find that job
caught bugger all as far as nigger, snapper and jewie are concerned - not a good year fishing wize.

But I did get that Vixen Atlux I've been drooling over for years and a nice 40D.

It is all part of the journey of life.

Just remember that past experiences do make us a better equipped to take on new challanges in future.

Hold onto your hat because I think you will have a good one.

All the best for 2009

Is it going to rain all year?

Just been reading stuff on brain preservation rejuvination etc... so I will pass on what it all boils down to.

1. Memory improves with an afternoon nap..great I have one in the morning as well... have a nap when you have learnt something it helps retain stuff.

2. Physical activity doing things one wants to do as oppossed to stuff one does not like to do is very helpful to stimulate growth of new brain cells.

3. There is support for thinking "good" thoughts however the brain is prone to think negatively ..which is somehow good as we should not be "high" all the time so indulge down times as part of life and part of the survival mechanism.

4. Fats and sugars are not to good for brain fixing.

5. AND Jen maybe you will like this ..eating chocolate and doing plenty of physical activity helps keep you on the ball and improves cell rejeneration.

I got down because last New Year I was in Sydney at the fireworks with my now definite ex and my daughter .... I guess I take a while to get past things.

Dam it the housing for the camera to go diving is $1500 so that wont happen... unless it stops raining maybe.

But reading all about this stuff as crazy as it is my interest in gravity may be it may be doing me good....the mental work I am happy to do in respect to leaning about the current view seems to be the right thing to do....

The only negative I must work on and which I will fix...a rat on a wheel without friends does far worse than a rat on a wheel with friends.... and maybe it goes thus for humans... human contact is stimulating apparently... so the near fights must do some good... drink is bad...dope apparently may be good although I find that hard to believe... cocain just shoot yourself no matter how good you feel you are done for it seems... same with "ice"...DMA makes you compassionate and trusting ..cocain the opposite...however what was interesting was the fact that these drugs take over the brains reward system and on the basis we can not stay happy too long they should be avoided.

Emotions should be reviewed and a determination made if one wants to be that way or not... and that must be acted upon rather than to wallow in the misery or elation of the emotion... the brain seems to thrive on new stuff.

I do realise however I am blessed..for many reasons... and need not think about the past or the future for that matter....

AND getting things off your chest via a personal medium such as the net all helps...so I dont feel guilty about raving on and on.. it is for me and it is theraputic...
