Beautiful Brisbane Sunset.

Well.. its full of clouds, so its not how I want the sky to look, however its a nice 2nd place prize..

Nikon D200.
Nikkor 12-24 @ F/8
ISO200, 1/20th.

Pretty much straight out of the camera...

Thanks for looking..
Alex.

Hey Alex,

Awesome images of the Sunset. It has been beautiful both yesterday and today.

I stayed up until 4am last night waiting for the clouds to clear. Might try again tonight. I'm very keen to get a look at Saturn.

Have fun,
Doug

Daniel, No mate, thats on the back veranda... We're up pretty high on a hill with a great view to the south south west..... Whilst this view seems great in photos like these, come night time, I can see the city buildings standing just above the horizon, and the associated skyglow is horrendous..

You win some you lose some I guess..

The colors were every bit as vibrant to the eyes as it is in the images.. The only thing I've done to them is a very mild shadows and highlight adjustment to get things even, corrected the barrel distortion from the ultrawide lens, and cropped them down a little... No adjustment to the colors or saturation at all... Straight out of the camera so to speak...

thanks.
Alex.

Beaut pics - thanks for posting Alex. Saw the beautiful sky glow lighting up the backyard, but didn't realise sky/sunset was so beautiful.

The second one would look great printed out and hanged up on a wall.

Lovely work.

Top shots Alex.
It was the best sunset we've had in quite a while.
You can't get a sunset when you have 100% cloud coverage.
