Well done Australia
The Aussies have wrapped up the two-Test series against the Kiwis with an absolute thrashing at the Adelaide Oval.
Ponting's men took the second Test by an innings and 63 runs!!
Woohooo.....!!!
Wait until you see the highlights tonight. Ponting took an absolute screamer of a catch which will be shown many times this summer.
Bring on South Africa, I say. It'll be a much tougher challenge than NZ, who it has to be said are at their weakest at the moment.
McCullum played a very nice innings...and they've got a few other younguns' who show a bit of promise for the future.

Well,
NZ are currently ranked number 8 in the world, just above Bangladesh. Lets see how they go against SA and the Poms before getting too excited.
Cheers

Like I said earlier...bring on South Africa...that'll be a tougher challenge.
Anyway...what's wrong with enjoying a win..whether it's against SA..NZ...or whomever? We'll get our 'excitement' where we can.
You can only play the sides that selectors put up against you. A win's a win's a win. Is our sense of achievement meant to be diminished because we've beaten a side ranked below us?
So were the NZ rugby league side going into the world cup final. You stil gotta beat 'em...even if you're expected to win

For a while I thought you had forgotten the league mate, LOL.
Thrashing? Embarrassing is what it was, and I am talking cricket here, but could be talking league as well, LOL.

Yes it was a good win and great innings by our new Gilchrist.

It was a good performance by the team and what an excellent catch by Ponting, a classic catch for sure.
I'm certainly looking forward to the Tests against South Africa.

Thanks for that, should be a great contest then.
I would have thought that India was up there with Australia after after they beat us.

I just think that to take out 3 of the best cricketers of the past century out of the Australian side had to cause a form slump. Players of that calibre cannot be replaced.
The Aussies will bounce back; but it will take time.

At least we belted the Kiwis, though!!!!
How bad do they suck!!!!
And let's face it...you can't win 'em all. Our record, though, over the last 15-20 years is very impressive. There has to be a downturn and the Australian side at the moment is very heavily depleted. To have lost Warne, McGrath and Gilchrist in the one season was always going to leave the side vulnerable. And Brett Lee is a long way from his best.
Anyway... enjoy it while you can
I guess we might end up ranked second after this. Gee...it's still a long way down to eighth!

Well if that what you pin success on, I'd be worried too. but
whatever floats your boat . So noisie when you beat a lil useless
cricketing nation... but shut right up when you actually get beaten by
a reasonable team now that's the old aussie sportmanship cracking
on which amuses me... it effects the team and the population. At least
us Kiwis aren't like that
Cheers

Ummm nope! I'd sack the selectors.... how many AB's have left the team
over the years... we more or less thrash everybody anytime anywhere
But I suppose you guys are still Netball Champs

Hang on Rob, the second test isn't over yet.
If there is one thing I've learnt from the game is that it can change very quickly. I've seen some amazing comebacks from different teams over the years.
Cheers
