Here are 86 images of all the galactic NGC nebulae that I know of:

It might give you a guide on what to image.

The scale is the same for most images, 56' x 56'.
Images of large objects are 112' x 112' and small ones 28' x 28'.

Here are images of all the 42 objects in the first southern catalogue of clusters and nebulae. It was made by Lacaille in 1751-52.
