Clear in the Valley for a change. My 10yo daughter and I paused an episode of Voyager to go watch a real space vessel - she thought it was 'awesome'. Another satellite crossed just behind the ISS too.

I think it's great to see the kids excitement when they have an understanding of what they're looking at. Hopefully sewing the seeds of a desire to learn more.

I think my daughter is well and truly assimilated. She wants to try to follow the ISS with her scope next time. I have a WO Ezy-Touch with dual dovetails, so I'll put both scopes on that and see if we can track it together. She also doesn't understand how anyone could not like star trek . "They're crazy".

Happened to be out looking at Christmas lights with the family last night when it went over. Nice long flyby, plenty of time to see it.

Yesterday was my first sighting of the ISS, I always seem to miss it, but not yesterday. Got my 10" dob setup and pointing at the specified area as per Stellarium alt/az. Started about 15min early to make sure I wasn't late. Thanks to my daughter (Kelly) she spotted it well bellow the area I was looking at. It's so bright (still daylight) don't know how I missed it before. Managed to site my scope using the red dot finder (very easy) and using the 26mm wide angle ep managed to track it of and on. Clearly seeing the structure and shape. Must use a filter next time as it's to bright especially when straight above.

Anyone out there want to swap an Ethos (15mm to 20mm) for a Mead 26mm WA
