Official interest rate = 0% & deflation in USA

So I guess we can expect to see FOB prices stateside falling for anything sourced in the USA .... and maybe prices here on scopes and stuff will fall too .... but don't hold your breath.

Harvey (of HND) is still trying to scare people into buying now rather than after the New Year , saying lots if shops wont be there much longer.

Prices won't fall, the $AUD is too low against the $US, in fact pries for some things may still rise - as our stocks become empty & we buy in more form o/seas (our dollar is also fallen heavily against Japanese yen).

However most price rises will be limited to low volume goods read telescopes, good camera gear - the mass produced crap will be kept low, like $49 dvd players and the like
