As some of you are aware, Anna & I have begun a new life as "Grey Nomads". Sold our home and chattels to start a new beginning on the road of discovery.
We decided to start our journey in Tassie, having thought a cooler summer would be a nice change from the heat we are normally accustomed to in Albury/Wodonga.
Having arrived in Devonport on Sunday morning we made our way to the Tamar Valley to enjoy a couple of days at the "Acropolite Resort" after an invite from Phil & Liz to recuperate and indulge in some of their fine hospitality (second to none).
While wandering the streets of Lonnie on Monday I spotted a Canon EF 24-105 f/4L on sale, which kept on beckoning me to buy it. So what can one do when put in such a position as this but give in to temptation!
While we we're quietly enjoying the peacefulness of the afternoon I thought I'd give the new lens a try from the "Acropolite Resort Restaurant".
Congratulations to you both for creating and seizing the opportunity to embark upon this exciting adventure. I’m certain that the path you have chosen will bring you many riches that would otherwise be lost in the hurly burly of 9 to 5 jobs and trying to squeeze your life into just the weekend.
I'm jealous !!
Having seen John and Anna's wonderful Caravan at IISAC I can tell you they are one very lucky couple.
What a wonderful setup it is, with all the best 'mod cons' !
Have a great time guys, like you, Phil and Liz are a wonderful couple too and the scene there looks lovely and tranquil.
Have a great time and congrats on the new lens, (I reckon Canon should give me a commission).
John and Anna have quit the Acropolis Hilton to venture further afield. The house is rather quiet without them, although the case full of TV Ep's that John & Anna left behind will be nice to check out (thanks John & Anna, the bids are rolling in on ebay....) (only kidding)...
Hopefully if the weather gods cooperate, we will visit the coast at the weekend for a shack inspection, my aim before John and Anna leave the state is to get Anna to go for a ride in the boat.
Phil, after the hospitality you and Liz have shown us, I'd be happy to do almost anything you ask. BUT THERE IS NO WAY I'M GETTING ON THAT BOAT.

I hope that you have and enjoy a grand adventure. Like many, I am jealous and would someday like to be in a position to become a nomad too (grey or otherwise as I'll be lucky to still have any hair by then).
Travelling around this "Great Land" of ours will be an adventure to remember I'm sure, anyway it'll give us an excuse to meet more of our friendly members on IIS.
John, you bought that lens and look what happened, you sucked the warm moist tropical air from northern territory all the way to Tassie - cloud and rain the whole of Australia LOL. Anna will make an astronomer of you yet LOL. All the best.... have you got the astro parties mapped out....?
