New Observatory?

Would this be a good way to make a new observatory?

Looks very interesting, but don't forget it's designed to be filled with concrete and concrete once poured is virtually "forever". Reading further, it looks like the components are made from PVC, perhaps the components could be used without the core filling.

Being PVC , unfilled they may lack structural strength , or maybe the PVC is quite thick and strong (there are watertanks made of the stuff and they are strong).

I wonder how they compare with steel cladding ? with Hardyplank cladding ? with insulated steel wall sheets wrt price / sqr m ?

Doubt it would be any good unfilled, would imagine a wall thickeness no greater than 6mm. We used to rate uPVC pipe at 7 years if painted and to get a good dense filling it would have to vibrated. So whole of life needs to be factored in.
