LMC and Eta from the Pony Club.

This was shot last week at the Pony Club.
I thought I'd do a little widefield imaging but unfortunately I didn't keep an eye on the dew and hadn't hooked up a dew starp so a lot of the frames were ruined, I do tend to get too distracted socialising with the other attendees now and then.

This was a 22 min (11 x 2min) exposure at ISO 800 using the 20Da shot at 32mm, f/2.8 on an EM200 mount.

I was hoping to use more exposures but what can ya do huh?
Next time I'll have to pay more attention LOL.

Thanks for looking and comments/critique most welcome.

I see wide fields are back in fashion!
And what an image to keep the fad going!

Just love it Rob, you can certainly gaze in and have a good look around.

Andrew,

Beautiful shot, mate.

The LMC is a corker!

You didn't apply a magenta photo filter in Photoshop to this image?

Regards,
Humayun

Very nice Andrew. The LMC looks great out on it's own pointing at EtaC. Well done.

Yeah Doug, at 32mm it certainly is a large chunk of sky captured.

Thanks Paul, yes I decided to keep it as simple as possible since I didn't plan on taking too much equipment out to the pony club with me so widefields were the order of the night.
I did a quick drift alignment with the short tube 80 and then took the scope off and attached the camera and lens on the mount instead, just tracking away and controlling the camera with the TC-80N3 timer inc. ICNR.
I just wish I had kept an eye on the dew.

Nah for some reason my magenta filter has been deleted in CS3.
Hope to get it back with CS4 when I upgrade.

Thanks Doug, I was mucking around trying to frame it so it would look somewhat balanced and was happy with this orientation.
Cheers.
