Hi all
Heres an unfiltered shot of Bernard 86 I took tonight.

Now Scott, that's just not fair. I've only just changed one of Eddies images as my desktop image with the new 253 image of Chris', and you go and post that. I've only got two computers and both of them have already got great images on them.
Just re processed it, stretching Levels in Photoshop more for higher contrast.

Wow! Amazing! I saw this thing or something very similar last w/e and was wondering what it was. (I saw it in a big star field near the Lagoon nebula.) The unprocessed shot looks heaps better to my eyes, with a greater range of variability in the brightness of the stars.
Thanks.
I use a 10 inch F5.6 Newtonian on a "Sampson" German equatorial mount ( scope and mount made by Astro Optical Supplies in Sydney). My rig is nearly 20 years old, was bought for Halleys Comet. It now has an off axis guider assembly from Aeroquest Machining
This is my rig now. http://www.users.on.net/~josiah/focuser/IMG_9932.jpg
Wonderfull image. I love how that shows of the mass of the Milky way. Go the 300D, truly the best bang for buck camera money can buy.
I actually like your first version better. 2nd version is a little bright. I have a very well calibrated monitor and it (2nd version) actualy hurt my eyes to look at it too long.
