Solar images

This was posted over at cloudynights but deserves to be posted here too. My favourite is the comet being struck by a coronal mass ejection.

Someone posted this link to me at work yesterday. Fabulous images. I liked the one of the moon/sun taken from one of the Lagrangian points.

Some stunning images - i've seen most before but I hadn't seen #8 which I particularly liked. Not for the prettiness of the image but the amazing ripples captured.

Very cool, thanks for the link.

I like that too; it looks very primal and foreboding.

Very impressive images
Isn't it just so amazing, what todays technology can produce and how this data is so freely available in the public domain.
