Thumbs up The 4 inner rocky planets in one field of view!

Hi all

This image of the 4 inner rocky planets (Venus, Mercury, Mars and Earth) was captured on Saturday night, at Long Jetty on the Central Coast of NSW.

Venus, Mercury and Mars made a nice conjunction with the star Spica, forming a lovely triangle in the twilight sky. My daughter Eliza was the model on the jetty.

It was a lovely warm day but very windy. The photo was taken with my Canon 350D and Sigma 17-70mm lens, f/7.1, ISO100, 1.6s exposure.

Processing including selective enhancement of the planets, and saturation boost.

800px version attached, 1200px version can be seen at my gallery:
Venus, Mercury, Mars and Spica Conjunction

Thanks for looking.

A very attractive and appealing composition Mike. The solitary figure (daughter?) pointing at the heavenly spectacle gives the scene enormous atmosphere and provides an insight into the scale of things.

Cheers

Dennis

Now that`s a real nice picture Mike! Yes what Dennis mentions, having your Daughter pointing up at the heaven`s makes it a much more dramatic image.
Very nice

Awesome colours Mike and using your daughter in the foreground adds a very nice aspect to the photo.
The conjunction reminds me of Taurus the Bull.

Excellent capture.

Yes, wonderful image, Mike. It's been a lovely dance of planets and Spica.

My Assistant at work has just had her second child and my niece has just her first child (I'm a greatuncle for the first time "GREAT"!!!! I'm not that old )

The signs in the heavens are favourable for their future?
