Thumbs up Registax version 3 released!!

Our favourite aligning/stacking/wavelet processing tool has had a major release, version 3 is out!

It looks like it's got a tonne of great new features, and processing speed is greatly improved.

Download it and check out the features here: http://registax.astronomy.net/index.html

I'll be trying to go over some of my older avi's to see if it can do anything better with them.

Wow, what a lot of new features! I like the "Drizzle" method of re-sampling! Sounds interesting.
With a bit of luck we'll get some fine weather soon to try it out, and no doubt re-learn everything again!!!

I had a problem with version 3-unlike version 2 I found that the image in the main window does not refresh when you look at each individual frames..dont know if that is a bug or something wrong

in the end I went back to version 2

however version 3 looks slick -think just need to figure out its idiosyncrasies

I've played around with it for most of the morning, processing last night and this mornings avi's.

It took a while to figure out where things were hidden, for example, the stackgraph, where you move the sliders to determine how many frames to stack.. That was hidden for a while and it kept stacking ALL the frames including the bad ones.

It's much much faster than the old version, and has some cool new features, some which I have no idea what they do just yet I don't think i'll be going back to version 2 now.

Seeker as for your problem, I had that once or twice, but closed it down, re-opened and then it was fine.

Hey Mike what settings do you use in Wavelet tab on the old version. Just interested as I have just started to look at this option for planetary work.

There's a new version released already, with bugfixes etc.. seeker you should download it to see if it fixes your problem as a few people elsewhere reported similar problems.

Paul i'll answer your question tomorrow.. just be aware that i'm far from an expert when it comes to wavelets.. for the most part I just experiment until I think it looks better and not worse, but there are some layers that you can generally tinker with.
