I love narrowband filters

Here is my first toe in the water of narrowband imaging.
A crop of a wide field of M8.
throught my Williams 132mm
4 X 600sec each channel.
Ha to red 0.6
SII = Green 0.5
OIII = Blue 1.0
Unsharp masked

Nice image Ken.
I too like the narrow field style of imaging.
Have you thought of redoing this one with the Hubble style of SII=Red, Ha=Green and OII=Blue?

Well done Kenny,
I too like narrow band as it can bring out much different areas to our familiar objects.
Not to mention get us out in the moon.

The second reprocess looks great!!
Would be nice to see a larger image though.

The hubble pallete image is fantastic.. great depth and stunning detail into the core...

Which narrowband filters are you using?

Yes, the Hubble pallete is much better, very smooth, and nice 3d effect.

I must say, for a 1st go at NB thats a fine effort, look forward to more.

Thanks for the feedback. The sky is clear tonight so I'm going for it, long weekend, I'm staying up all night. Hopefully everything goes smooth, I have a feeling that M8 was too easy.
Will try M16 before it gets too low, then NGC2070 and maybe a M42.

BTW I'm using Custom Scientific Filters.
