Lonely Horse

Horsehead Nebula. 10 X 10 minute images stacked in IP3 finished in CS3.
Images calibrated and aligned.

Scope Vixen VC200L f9
Camera QHY8 Cooled colour CCD
Guided.

Imaged last night 2/10/2008 a nice clear night here but a lot of high level wind caused a few problems with focus.

Great image Doug, I like the sharp contrast of the HH against the red backdrop.

Your getting great use out of the VC200L
Nice but I think the stars have gone a little pink. The horsey is great.

nice doug youve captured plenty of detail with the horse and the reflection neb without any interference from the bright star just off the field of view to the lower right. well done.

Very nice HH Doug, only thing it looks too red and the little reflection neb which shows a fair amount of blue is rather pink instead. With some color balance and mixing / levels it will be even better!

Ps.. had a very quick play (hope you don`t mind) with color balance/levels and some channel mixing and this is what I end up with. Some might not like it but!..
cheers Gary

Nice detail in that HH Doug, it shows what is possible with skill and a long FL telescope.
Love the fine detail in the red 'curtains'... kinda reminds me of that red backwards-talking dream scene from Twin Peaks.
Sorry... it's getting late and losing the plot

Cheers,

Rob
