Weather blues

Hi All

Had a beautiful clear night last night in Perth but trust me, we went visiting friends and I got stuck into the white drank too much etc then spent the night on the couch, ouch !!!

Had a nice dry throat this morning however it was looking to be another clear night even though the weather bureau predicted light rain.

Ho Hum who believes them anyway so I set all my gear up this arvo and sure enough around 17:30 light clouds start rolling in.

Well I checked the 128 radar images from BOM and they look clear so hopefully this lot will blow over by the time the sun sets (fingers crossed).

If not at least I got practice balancing the scopes up again, levelling the tripod head making sure everythings pointing in the right direction etc etc.

We've all been there

: lol:

Yeah once I tried stargazing drunk, infact it was the best seeing ever, The Trapezium in Orion were nice tight balls at over 700x in my 12" but surprise surfreakingprise, it clouded right over GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I could've been throwing over 1000x on some planetaries that night but NOOOOOO frigging CLOUDDS!!1!11

I hope we've all learnt something here kids, Don't drink on a clear night - You'll be paying for it bigtime

Drink or no drink, it has been doing this cloud think down here for weeks on end, it is getting very frustrating I can tell you, but I always say, maybe tomorrow.

Only chance to observe this week is Friday night - club night. Current forecast:- "Cold with rain. Winds from the SSW at 19 km/h."

Well I can only hope the weather does the usual and arrives one-half to one day late?

Fine = rain
Rain = rain

I'm wagging uni on Wednesday so I can observe all night Tuesday.

Hey SAB,

Have a look outside now, only some high level cloud to contend with.
Enjoy

Well after packing up around 7:00 as the clouds looked decidedly set in I sat down and watched Two and half men, looked outside after it had finished and guess what the clouds had all but disappeared, drats I'm buying a cover for my gear. Anyhow woke up this morning and sure enough it's raining.

Spanners !!!

Is it even dark at 7pm these days?

Well today was 'sposed to be a sunny day ,but guess what, at 11:00am it's freaking overcast, Melbourne style. The forecast has changed from "sunny" to "partly cloudy".

GOD, My eyes were scorched by the sun at 6am this morning ( and in July and August I remember catching the 6.38 express train to uni in the darkness)!

MELBOURNE IS PATHETIC

HOPEFULLY, tonite will see clearing skys. Tomorrow's forecast says "mostly sunny", but we've seen the result of today so yerrr. The plan is to wag uni tomorrow so I can stargaze tonight. I have my obs list prepared, my 12" dob has a 5 kilo layer of dust on it....it's time peoples.....

FREAKING MELBOURNE CLOUD
