NSW to batten down the hatches tonight !

Looks like a nasty blow is headed our way tonight and tomorrow morning.
It's been building up all day here.

Listening to the ABC they say north of Newcastle and south of Albury and into Vic have a sever storm/wind warnings with parts on NSW hit by large dust storms.
Sydney will experience gale force winds according to BOM.

Better check around the house and batten down any loose items and check your observatories whoever is lucky enough to have one.

Hey RB...

This: is Oberon on a normal day! It's already unusually windy here. I can hear the wind outside over the noise of the office air conditioning and the big change hasn't arrived yet.

Could be a wild night I think.

If it gets real bad, don't be surprised if I wave to you on the way to work in the morning...

Al.

Yep... very dark here on the NE end of Lake Macquarie , been building up all avo and looks very onimous to the west and SW. Was supposed to be a stinker today, but the total cloud cover has kept the temps down, is actually very comfortable , if a tad breezy. Wind has died off in the last half hour of so - calm before the tempest....''

The little black ants are swarming up the bricks (front patio) and I even spotted a few in the shower-bath combo this afternoon .... they always know when bad weather is not far off .....

But been blowing too hard to go fishing today too ....

Looking just fine and dandy up here, no jet stream beautiful clear day
although there is a storm cell heading SW missing us hopefuly about
100kms west of us. The storm that hit SE QLD last night come through
here first. But it cleared up to a fairly good night. But tonight is looking
a heap better.

Take it easy all of you's down there and I hope you all come through ok. I
think we'll be setting more storm records this year.

regards,CS

Looking rough here! I'm heading for home before it hits. Radar shows some wind, but lots of rain!

Hi all

We have had the dust storm - but looks like there is more to come.

Had a bit of a storm blow through this afternoon but nothing like they were predicting, it's still raining at the moment though.

Rubbish...

Some people have nothing better to do than call "wolf"... when there isn't one.

Now, who's a little piggy ?

We got the red stuff here today as well, dirty rain. Had to hose the van down before I went out earlier, couldn't see out the windscreen. Chucking down rain here at the moment, but not much wind. Had a thunderstorm this morning, but didn't last long. Forecast is pretty wet for the next week.

Better to be on the safe side and be prepared, I'm glad it didn't eventuate as severe as it was predicted for us here.

The wind was strong enough to wake me a few times during the night, but I don't think it was as bad as expected. I'll know when I get home from work this arvo of course, when I've had a chance to look around...
