Hi Lester, Calibration files, Flats, Darks and Bias files. Darks well you know what they do but running the camera at -40C I don't find them absolutely needed but they can make mall improvements and assist with removal of hot pixels but again they can be removed with the Photoshop clone tool.
Flats and bias files can assist with the nomalising of gradients and normalising vignnetting. I removed most of the problem in this image by clipping the black a little.
Sometimes I wonder why we bother with all these files but when all is equal they do improve an image when done correctly.
