SOLD - Sigma EX (pro) 24-60mm F2.8 for Canon

Hi All,

This lens is brand spanking new, less than a week since purchase, and comes with box, warranty cards, manual, cap and lens shade and a very nice padded lens container. I imported from the US as a possible replacement for my Sigma 17-70 zoom on my Canon 40D.

I was tempted by the pro (EX series is Sigma's pro-line) build and fast constant F2.8 aperture of this. My plan was to use it alongside my 17-70 and sell one or the other lens. I've run my comparisons and while there is much to recommend the new lens (fast and lovely bokeh) I found the zoom range more restrictive and not adequate to fully replace my 17-70. At shorter FL the two were on a par for sharpness, but for longer focal lengths I reckon my 17-70 was sharper.

It seems I don't really need the F2.8 as I do the range and sharpness of the 17-70 (esp. the lower end), but the F2.8 might make this a very useful Astro lens.

Grey imports retail for around $550-600AU here (retail more again). I'm now asking for just $350 postage within Australia included (no pickups). First to PM they'll take it get's it!
