Post Skywatch collapsible dob

Hey guys bought my new telescope today.

The skywatch collapsible 10 inch dob.
I remember when researching this scope it was very hard to find reviews and information about it.
So hopefully I can contribute my experience with it in the coming days to future buyers.

I bought it for $999 from the awesome guys at York Optical in Brookvale.
I must say these guys are friendly and offer the best assistance!
defiantly recommended!

The packing is rather big and took us a while to fit into my 2door sports prelude.
The assemble of the base was quick and easy! Took about 40minutes to have everything done.
It comes with a 2" eye piece adapter but since I only have 1.25" EPs I have no use of it.

The handy EP brackets that comes with it will prove handy when out and about.

Crayford focuser is very nice and smooth and doesn’t look like it will disrupt viewing when turned.
The swivel of the base seems a bit tight but I think that’s because I have tightened those bolts to stop wobble when swivelling.

Its so simple to extended and collapse, tightening screws help to keep the tube firmly held when in the desired position.

The finder scope will need to be tested further when I take it out for a session.
The only thing that worries me is the finder scope has a crosshair viewer so I am curious to see if the crosshairs are easy to see when in dark skies.

The weight of the 10" is great, I am a skinny guy and I can lift this up without too much strain.

I was surprised to notice the collimation was pretty poor for a scope out of the box. 1 Good thing tho is the right size Alan key is provided to adjust the secondary mirror.

So far so good, I am eagerly waiting dark skies to report on the viewing.
