Crux and firefly

Having a play with new 'nifty fifty' lens that arrived in mail today, and there were fireflies hovering around, beautiful things .... but didnt think it would show up in a photo!!

Nice capture.

I'm dying to see a firefly, only saw one when I was very young whilst on holiday in Europe.

Yep, I agree that is certainly different, and I have to say as Andrew did, I have never seen a firefly in the flesh so to speak.

thats a first for me, i knew you got glow worms, heard of fireflys but never seen one .... ever.

Thanks guys .... these little fireflies are quite common up my way, and so bright. and almost magical. Sometimes, when I'm lurking in the dark in my front yard, with camera and tripod, I think that someone is coming along with a torch, then realise its only my little firefly. Their bioluminescence is amazing.

Verry cool.
Have been fascinated by fireflies since a little kid after reading about them in National Geographic mag.
Still never seen one tho

I was in a park in Northern NSW on dusk, and there were fireflies coming out of and surrounding a large open split at the bottom of a dead tree.
It was like a fairy land grotto.
