I actually found out about it from an email sent to me from Rob Gendler, a nice surprise in the morning to be informed of this most unusual and unexpected occurance by the World's greatest amateur astrophotographer

...and it wasn't even on my home page version of APOD at that stage either

Well I do have an SBIG... it's just got FLI etched in the side of it to make appearing on APOD that more challenging
