I saw a similar object in the east from Frankston, about 45degrees, dropping straight down and away from me at about 11am, visible for 4 seconds, just fluked it as I was looking at a cloud in the distance forming a cap. had the Binos with me so can confirm that it was not an aircraft. Wasnt an Iridium flare either, seen one in daylight before, they just flash, dont fall down.

It lasted for 1 minute? Surely that is far too long for a fireball. It wasn't a distant plane with contrails being lit by the low Sun was it?
