2 Hours worth of Corona Australis

Hi again everyone,
Had lots of clear nights this way lately but have suffered from either horrid seeing or too much wind. This one was one of those nights with a bit of both..Seeing went from bad to worse while the wind started to pick up as well. Not enough to stop PHD from guiding or cause trailing but enough to cause stars to be bloated and soft.
This area is such a wonderful area to image and I think it is a favorite of many imagers here! and also for me as well!
Image is 20 x 6min with my 6" newt and Canon 20D. Picture was taken about 2 weeks ago and only slightly cropped then resized for posting.
I need longer subs again to get deeper into the dusty stuff but not bad for not such a good night! I am hoping for another top night next new moon.
Did have a great night a few nights before this night with some very nice seeing which really shows with the 2 images I took that night...Stay Tuned...
cheers Gary

Top shot Gary. I love the globular – it just “glows” and is resolved to its core.

Cheers

Wonderful image Gary, lovely detail all over.

The Globular cluster really stands out nicely.

Very well done. Looking forward to more.

Well done Gary, lovely colours and hues.

you've brought out the dark nebulae wonderfully and the globular is definitely the cherry on the cake.

A very nice image.

cheers Mike! it certainly is! Had to do some work on the stars a few times to keep them a bit smaller and tighter and to stop them dominating the image!
Thanks for looking.

Marvellous image Gary. The FOV groups the targets extremely well. I can't believe how well you've brought out the dusty features - excellent processing. Well done and keep up the great work.

Thanks Jase, The seeing might have been crappy but as I remember the transparency was excellent which helps a lot with this sort of area to image!
