Hi guys.
By now you should've noticed the new forum structure.. well here's the introduction to it..
IceInSpace Category
- "Beginners Start Here" forum moved to this category, as it contains lots of introductory stuff and is more relevant to the general forums.
- Other sub-forums unchanged
General Astronomy Category
- Now contains 3 sub-forums, "Star Parties and Observing Sessions" (no change), "Observational Astronomy" (name change) and "Astronomy Science" (new sub-forum).
- The Observational Astronomy sub-forum is a new name for the old "Space & Astronomy Talk" forum. This forum is likely to contain general astronomy related discussions, as well as observation reports, sketches, monthly observing challenge writeups and info, what's in the sky, what's good to look at, etc.
- A new forum has been created, Astronomy Science, specifically for the discussion of the science of astronomy, space exploration, and other pursuits in that area. It's designed to bring more people to post who have interests in that area, who don't want to participate in the "what telescope should I buy" threads. IceInSpace as a growing community needs to cater for the real "amateur astronomers" in Australia (not just the "star-gazers" that most of us are) and hopefully this new forum will bring more of them here. I'll also be attempting to start some Q&A sessions with professional astronomers, who will hopefully participate and answer some questions that we pose.
The forum will be for serious discussions only, spam will not be tolerated and it will be strictly moderated. But please, feel free to participate and post your questions and discussions about this field.
Equipment Category
- A new category for equipment related discussions.
- The sub-forums are not changed, they are just moved under a different category heading.
Images & Photography Category
- No change to these sub-forums.
The forum changes are designed to allow IceInSpace to continue expanding and keep relevant topics together, so that people can find what they want to read easier, and participate in the topics they're interested in.
I appreciate (as always) your feedback, comments and suggestions.
Thanks
