Flower arranging

Hi All,

Well I finally decided to invest in a good digital SLR with a view to putting together an imaging 'scope over the next year.

I used to be a fairly keen film photographer and had lots of fun with my old Pentax KX (fully manual) SLR which has a 50mm f/1.4 lens and a 70-200 Zeiss zoom, but haven't really taken much in the last few years.

My 40D arrived the other day (bought it for my birthday) and I finally found the time to take it down a local reserve today and took about 90 pics over two hrs. I am very happy with what came out and here is a nice pic of a bee tending a bloom. Problem is, the buggers won't stay still long enough to focus precisely. It is a 1/3 size crop 400ISO 1/320th sec at f/6.3 with a 55-250IS lens at about 220mm.

I slightly enhanced the contrast and brightness in my very old version of Photoshop 7.0.

Strong learning curve ahead to master this wonderful camera.

Best,

Les D

Well almost.

Very nice shot Les and congrats on your new 40D, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it.
Looking forward to many more shots from you.
