Lagoon Neb NGC 6530 B&W

Hi Ya all,

Had a go at lagoon last night, this is 30 images at 124 sense up mode using registax to process....total time of combined image's about 40 seconds.

Used my C11 6.3 at 1880mm with stellacam.....I have added a false colour image just for the fun of it.

Comments welcomed.

Good work Tony ! interesting false colour rendition too. Tony what is sense up mode ?and that shot is just 40seconds combined ? not bad for such a short exposure! now give us a longer one mate and I want to see It now !

Louie...I dont know exactly what 124 sense up mode means...I just read it on a web site so I used it....I do know that it has something to do with the sensativity of the camera where as 124 is the highest setting and used for DSO's but for doing planet's you turn it off and its still too sensative with out filters....you have a range from 1-124 in the option settings.

I had to have a go ot the lagoon Neb with the 20DA just to compare with the SAC Mintron.

This is 2 x 30 second images stacked.
1 x 1600 ISO
1 x 800 ISO

SCT Prime Focus C11 F10 FL 2800....unguided and resized in Photodeluxe

Very happy with result considering the near full moon was fairly close to the target.

If you cant see the difference....lol....the SAC is in B&W and the Canon 20DA is the coloured 1.

Nice colour for such a short exposure Tony. Have a look at your brighter stars. See the small dot below each one, that's probably from camera movement when you hit the shutter. Try timer release.Or a stutter in your mount movement.
