Saturn from 4/22

Since seeing has been poor here, I had time to look through some old AVI's of Saturn. I also went to the Cassini site to look at the way those pictures are color balanced. I have trouble capturing the same sort of golden, pastel hues on Saturn itself. Anyone have any tips? Thanks.

Wow Dave, what a great image. It has been a while since I have last seen an image of Saturn so thankyou for posting.

Lovely smooth image with lots of detail and I also see that you captured a storm as well. As for the colour, I quite like the colouring you have now but it does look a bit green at the moment.

Very well done.

That's a great image, Dave. Perhaps some adjustment of the background levels and some adjustment of the green colour balance would even things out a bit.

I'm looking forward to Saturn coming around again.. though it's still a few months away. It was a horrible year for Saturn this year down under.

Thanks. I'll reduce the impact of the green some.

Nice Cassini division, very sharp image Dave. As Mike said it will be nice to see Saturn again in the southern hemisphere.

Nice Saturn!

In Photoshop, use the SELECT/ COLOR RANGE to select the background, invert selecction and use IMAGE/ADJUSTEMENTS/AUTOCOLOR.

And a COLOR BALANCE layer for small color adjustements turn your excelent picture in this:

(is a display capture.. I donīt know what quality have now...)

Thanks Pelu. I like what you did to the picture. I only have Photoshop Elements. I still haven't learned all of the features in Maxim DL so I may be able to do something like that in. Thanks for the tips!
