Mercury and Venus close encounter.

Tonight just after sunset, Mercury and Venus passed each other with an angular separation of only 57' 43".

Here are two of my efforts. The close up is through the 200mm scope and 21mm Denk lens and taken while still twilight. It was hand held with the Olympus 410 compact and I thought that I would leave it totally unedited to fully show the view through the lens.

It was a very nice viewing.

Nice photos, thanks. The clouds cleared and I could see them both for 30 min as I drove home westwards.

I like both shots Wade.
Glad you left the first one unedited, gives a nice perspective.
Also like the second with the lovely sunset hues.
