1st Jupiter

First effort with my first decent 'scope.
Eyepiece projection onto my Sony P200. MPEG converted to AVI then into Registax.

My first run through with Registax too. I'm pretty spiffed at being able to see the GRS at all actually.

At least I've left plenty of room to get better.....

Hi Rob

That’s a fine image of Jupiter for your 1st effort and given the pretty awful jet stream we have been experiencing over SE Qld the last week or so. Congratulations on a fine portrait – you know you’ll be chasing larger apertures, mono cameras, colour filters and a filter wheel now! Nice to see the Galilean moons too.

Cheers

Dennis

That is a good start Rob, the image is sharp and the detail looks good.

Well done.

What a great start Rob! For your first image of jupiter you have done very well. The GRS and two moons have come out great also.

Very well done.

Rob, Nice result and showing moons as well.

I'm also trying to image with my Dob using Eypiece projection.
I don't have all the bits jet. But I thought with EP projection you had to remove the lens from the camera?

Jakob.

Thanks guys. This is an awesome community Mike has got going here. Only trouble is it definitely does stimulate the desire to collect new goodies!

Partly inspired by your great sequence the other day too Alex.

Jakob, I'll probably embarass myself with lack of knowledge in front of the pros here, but I think its eyepiece projection if you've still got an eyepiece in - in my case unable to take lenses off my Sony minicam. (Figured I better sort out my telescope before getting a DSLR, a laptop, a Powermate, a Toucam, a skyfilter, etc............!!!)
