I assume Trevor means this list:

http://ofcs.rottentomatoes.com/pages/pr/top100scifi

I've not seen too many of them. Not a big fan of '2001' though.

Hi Trevor, I've seen 73 of the 100. I agree with the selection of films but not with some of their placings but that is all subjective I suppose.

Seen 42 & own 17 on dvd.

Japanese manga on the list with 'Akira', I'm suprised 'ghost in the shell' isn't there

I've seen 82 of the films on that list and like Ric, I have minor quibbles with the placings.
Mind you, of that 82, I'd have to add that at least half of them were pretty average, in my opinion
A quick check of my dvd shelves shows 28 of those titles present with another 24 that didn't make the list.
Sci-fi films are a strange and subjective genre indeed. What will make one fan slaver at the mouth with enjoyment will induce a trance like state of utter boredom in another. But hey, I'm a sci-fi junkie, so bring 'em on, brother!

Anyone can make a good movie...something so bad it becomes art is something else again.
" Plan 9 from outer space 1959" ........awesome
"The Terror of Tiny Town 1938" actually a western ( the first all midget musical western) indescribable! so baddddd it could be made by aliens.
The lists of the worst ofter contain true gems

I've seen 84/100...and yes, I need to get a life!

Like others, I am not certain of the rankings but it is a pretty good effort from the compilers...

51 out the 100. Some I have never heard of, maybe because I'm still a young tacker.

My personal favourite is "The Fifth Element" - awesome.

Cheers

I must be a sad case as I have seen 80 of them and own 63. Some glaring ommisions in my opinion but was happy to see "the city of lost children".
I dont agree with some of the movie placings either.

I agree about some of the ratings how about "Silent Running" or "Forbidden Planet" these should be up the top of the list
