Jupiter 4 August

9.10pm CST. I've attached the red channel too which was really promising. Unfortunately the blue was pretty bad. Not bad seeing considering BOM forecast showers - quite a bit of jetstream activity though.

11" SCT, 2x barlow, 1" extension tube, SkyNyx 2.0, 45 secs each of RGB @ 34fps

Hi Greame,

If the blue channel is crappy (mine normally are), then only use it to colour the image. Combine the RGB as usual, then take the best one (usually red) sharpen it a little, boost the contrast a little then layer it back in as a Luminance channel.

You have some good data there, looks like you and I were imaging at the same time. Seeing deteriorated by about 10.30 here, but it was nice while it lasted.

Cheers
Stuart

Thanks Stuart. I've never tried LRGB but I'll have to give it a go. I guess it would end up as RRGB.
