Jupiter 4-8-08

Hi All,

A Jovian shot from tonight. Lots more AVI's to go through, I added the three moons from a separate shot, I thought Europa was in the frame of the planet shot, but it must have been just off frame.

Do you think the "surface detail" on Ganymede is real or a processing artifact??

Cheers
Stuart

Nice work Stuart, looks really good!

A dark centre is usually the result of a processing artifact (oversharpening), but yours has a bright "pole" area at the top which indicates that feature itself is real.

The darker centre will be part real, but the sharpening process would've enlarged it to bigger and more contrasty than it normally would be.

But you can confidently say you've captured albedo markings, for sure.

Nice crisp detail there, Stuart. And you're right - it does seem like pretty much the same time as mine.
