RCW 58 Reprocessed

Getting new image data is difficult this time of season so I reprocessed an old image.

This is the extremely faint RCW 58 involving a Wolf Rayet star. I wasn't too pleased with the original image as it was effectively buried in the stellar background. As much as I don't like to overprocess images, restraining the stellar background to bring more detail in nebular shell was worth it.

Pleasing to see you going beyond the normal processing routine Steven. Its is indeed a fine line before you over do it. This is a interesting target and the repro of this would appear to have done the object justice. Very nice work. Most if not all of your images are LRGB. Don't see much Ha work or blends. I think this target would really benefit from some Ha data...so how 'bout it?

great to see some of the unusual subjects you tackle steven, theshell is clearly defined, this is an object i have never seen before

Some of my images like this one are RRGB. As much as I would like to add Ha, finding a suitable guide star without a guide scope is next to impossible.

I find using an R filter is the next best thing.

Thanks Clive. There are quite a few Wolf Rayet stars out there with intricate nebulae that deserve imaging.

Very faint it is! I couldn't locate the object with a 10 sec exposure.

Very nice for such an unusual dim object, excellent detail, star processing/colour is exceptional, very deep.
