Moon, Saturn and Venus, 3 Aug 08

Hi All,

Nice view just before 6 pm this evening, with Venus, crescent Moon and Saturn in the East, and then Mars higher up and Jupiter to the East. Here are a couple of images for anyone who missed it - the first shows Saturn, Moon and Venus, while the second is a close-up of the Moon and Saturn.

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice photos Stephen. I was too tired after Qld Astrofest to even contemplate lifting a camera, let alone finding it in the chaotic gear dump, so thanks for sharing these.

Cheers

Nice pics, Stephen

I saw this as I was travelling home on the shuttle bus from Suncorp Stadium yesterday after the Broncos game.

BTW...that sunset view is looking west, not east

Thanks guys!

And yes you're right Matt - the sun does set in the west! It was getting late when I posted these images...

Cheers,
Stephen
