K3CCD Help!

First attempt at imaging Jupiter last night with K3CCD and the 900NC Toucam.

I know this maybe a really stupid question, but how do I actually capture data within that program or should I be using something else like VLounge (which came with the Webcam) or VirtualDub?

Total noob at planetary imaging.

k3ccd is the best to use.

Did you get the preview screen up and running?

There's a record button on the toolbar.

K3CCD it is then, umm I'm pretty sure I did, I had Jupiter smack bang in the field of view and was looking for a 'record' or equivelent button but just couldn't see it?

Mind posting a screenshot Mike?

I don't use it anymore, I don't even have it installed on this laptop anymore

I'll see if I can find what I mean, in lieu of someone else posting an answer in the meantime.

Hey Prova... refer to the attached screen dump.

The capture a video sequence button is the one just below and to the right of "zoom" in the menu. The ladder looking thing is supposed to be a film. The button left of this one is to capture a single frame (it's greyed out in this screen dump) but I haven't used that and the button two to the right is the long exposure capture dialog.

BTW once you start capturing, you stop by right-clicking the mouse. I didn't know that when I first tried K3!

I use the capture sequence mode... set it to capture 2min AVI's @ 30 minute intervals... over the course of a night you get plenty of different AVI's and can make a pretty fluid animation of jupiters rotation... (if the seeing holds out that is...)
