Fire and Water

One of those moments where there is barely enough time to load the camera with fresh memory and electricity.

HawkesburyRiver Sunset
Nikon D200 ISO250, f/3.5, 1/80second
Nikor ED 18-70mm at 18mm

As is. No post processing
Cheers

Yep, taken literally dozens of sunsets from the same spot over the years. Never caught anything like that. Had to get lucky sooner or later.

Thanks Houghy. Stepped outside to be confronted by that and was dumb struck. “Hey, wow, check that out.” Which must have lasted a good ten seconds before the fevered panic to shoot it set in……

Thanks Mike. Mum and Dad bought an old fishing shack on the Hawkesbury River at Gunderman nearly thirty years ago. Never seem to have the time to make the most of it these days.

Superb image, Deeno! They don't happen like that very often and you've done extremely well to capture it!

Obviously it was my cryptic (as usual ) way of saying what a great reflection shot - beautiful symmetry. It's not that often that water is still enough to allow "mirror image" quality - then you need something in the sky worth the mirror image! Deeno - you got the lot

Aaaah, when mother nature does all your processing for you! Beauiful shot!

Kind of reminds me of a scene you'd see in Lord of the Rings "Just need to pass over these hills to Mount Doom in Mordor!"
